With over a decade of dedicated involvement in 4-H, his journey began as a member of the Hampton 4-H Teen Club in 2015. As a teen, he actively participated in various 4-H programs, educational STEM initiatives, and community service events. His commitment to 4-H led him to complete a 100-hour volunteer internship for Virginia Cooperative Extension in 2016, where he honed his leadership skills.
In 2019, his final year as a 4-H youth, Isaiah Morton earned the Outstanding Teen Award at Jamestown’s camp and also was elected to join the Virginia 4-H State Cabinet as one of the State Ambassadors for the Southeast District. Since then, he transitioned from a youth leader to an adult volunteer and staff member. In 2021, he was hired by the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center and was part of the summer staff in both 2021 and 2023. In 2022, he served as the emergency hire/camp coordinator for the City of Richmond, further reinforcing his passion for empowering youth and fostering essential life skills.
As the James City County 4-H Agent, Isaiah Morton draws inspiration from the agents and 4-H staff who guided him throughout his journey. He values the deep relationships formed between youth and 4-H adults, reflecting his genuine passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of young individuals. He considers himself a living testimony to the transformative power of 4-H education and is committed to giving back to the program that has played a pivotal role in shaping his skills and character.
