The James City County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of James City County improve their lives. We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

4-H Summer Camp

Junior 4-H Summer Camp 2017 will be held July 3-7, 2017. Registration for camp opens at 8:00 a.m. on February 13th, 2017.


Turf Love Program

Turf Love is a year-round program for county residents. Soil sampling, lawn measuring, and certified Nutrient Management Plans are all components for fertilizing lawns to best reduce nutrients reaching our waterways.

The Virginia Food Access Network (VFAN) accelerates efforts, connects partners, and shares resources to solve child hunger in Virginia and create nutritious food access for all Virginians.
