VCE Family Focus
VCE, FCS Family Focus Families and Friends,
Reminder both York and James City County are CLOSED the first week in April, Monday, April 4th – Friday, April 8th for Spring Break.
The VCE, FCS Family Focus Center in York County will be offering the following April Playgroups for parents and/or caregivers and their children (Please see attached Calendar for additional information).
- Infant/Toddler (All ages to 5 years old) Playgroup – Monday, April 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- Infant/Toddler (All ages to 5 years old) Playgroup – Tuesday, April 9,16, 23 & 30 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- **York County APRIL Evening Playgroup** – Tuesday, April 23 from 6:00 – 7:30. Please see attached flyer for more detail.
The VCE, FCS Family Focus Center in James City County will be offering the following April Playgroups for parents and/or caregivers and their children (Please see attached Calendar for additional information).
- Infant/Toddler (All ages to 5 years old) Playgroup – Thursday, April 11, 18, & 25 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- **COMING SOON: James City County MAY Special 6-week “Play and Learning PLUS Playgroup” **– Thursday’s, May 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 and June 6 from 9:30 – 11:30. It will be a 6-week series of playgroups with a 30 minute parent interactive discussion breakout session. Please see attached flyer for more details, including the topics that will be discussed during the breakout sessions. Enrollment is limited and required by Friday, April 26 so we can make sure we have enough staff on-site to help with childcare during the breakout sessions.
Excited to offer a Spring PARNENTING CLASS at our York County center: “Active Parenting First Five Years” on Wednesdays, April 24 through May 29 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. This 6 week research-based parenting class is perfect for new parents and parents with children to age five. Please see flyer for additional information
Remember enrollment is required for all VCE, FCS Family Focus Playgroups. To enroll please call (757) 564-2173 and leave a message. The fee per playgroup is $5.00 per family. Cash or Checks payable to VCE-JCC (There is a $50 return check fee.) Scholarships are available upon request.

This 6 week research-based parenting class is
perfect for new parents and parents with children to age five.
Parents will learn:

- Building a strong bond
- Your child’s growing brain
- Effective discipline young children can understand
