If you rely on a well, spring, or cistern for your drinking water, you are responsible for ensuring it’s safe for your family. Virginia Cooperative Extension offers affordable water testing clinics across the state through the Virginia Household Water Quality Program (VAHWQP), and we’re offering a Well Water Workshop for James City County.

$70/sample kit (subsidized kits may be available). Since analysis is done at our cost-recovery lab, each kit costs $70—compared to over $300 at a private lab.

Testing includes 28 chemical and bacteriological constituents, including Coliform bacteria, E. coli, lead, copper, arsenic, hardness, pH, nitrate, sulfate, fluoride, and more.
