Luke Gladden

Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources

Luke Gladden is a 2024 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a focus in Entomology. He has taken a wide variety of courses at NC State, including those covering: Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, Entomology, Energy, Sustainability, GIS, and Environmental Law.

In Luke’s last semester of college, he worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where he researched the impact of different types of trash on local waterways through controlled, experimental data. Through this research, he has attended several relevant symposiums and conferences, and has presented the research at the NC State Spring Symposium (2024). His capstone project explored “eco-anxiety on campus”, by identifying factors and developing recommendations.

Luke is from New Bern, North Carolina, but has familial ties to New Kent and is currently a resident. He is recently graduated and is excited to help serve as the ANR Extension Agent for New Kent and James City County.
